Creative Fairytale and Folklore Writing Workshop with Author Marie Basting

On Thursday, 27th February 2025, our students took part in a fun and inspiring writing workshop with award-winning author, Marie Basting. Known for her funny fiction inspired by Greek mythology, fairytales, and Ancient Rome, Marie captivated the students with her storytelling skills and creative writing expertise.
During the workshop, students explored the art of storytelling, delving into the world of fairytales and folklore while learning how to create their own exciting stories. Marie shared some tips on how to bring characters and settings to life, giving everyone a chance to develop their writing skills and have fun with their creativity.
Marie said, “It was my absolute pleasure to visit Harper Green students. What a fantastic group of young people. Good luck with your competition entries!”
